Gifted NEX Network Expectations:
Gifted NEX is committed to treating personal information with care, minimizing any breaches of the privacy act and always acknowledging original sources. We are committed to ensuring that communication and sharing in person or on any online platform is both legal and ethical. To achieve this, we ask all of our Network members to adhere to the following guidelines.
> Protect privacy: Do not include any information that might identify specific individuals, schools or organisations without their informed consent.
> Protect your reputation: Be wary of how and where you post personal content that could undermine your reputation as a teaching professional. Be polite, professional, supportive and inclusive in posting and responding to colleagues.
> Get consent for content: Only record and share content (text, video, photo, audio, etc.) if the people in it know it has been taken or created and have provided their consent.
> Share with care: Be considerate of others in the network. Ensure content is appropriate, meets the purpose and allows space for everyone to share.
> Acknowledge: Always, always, always acknowledge any original source.
> Support each other: Comment, encourage and give feedback - let people know when you’ve used something of theirs and it’s worked.
> Keep it offline: Don't participate in disputes online. Private message if you have a concern or contact one of our administrators and the team will follow our complaints process.
Gifted NEX cannot take responsibility for all content that is posted by individuals online. Views, thoughts and opinions expressed online by individuals, belong solely to the author and are not necessarily shared by other Network members or the Gifted NEX staff.
Gifted NEX Complaints Process:
Gifted NEX is committed to following up any complaint received.
If you have concerns about any content shared face to face or online please follow this process:
1. Contact us formally in writing by emailing giftednex@nzcge.co.nz within 10 working days of the concern, clearly setting out the reason/s for the complaint.
2. The NZCGE Gifted NEX staff will meet, discuss the basis of the complaint and provide a formal decision within 10 days of receiving the formal complaint.
3. Outcomes will depend on the nature of the offense and may include: a. No action necessary. b. Removal of the post with a warning to the author. c. Removal from the Network.
4. The NZCGE decision will be final and no further correspondence will be entered into.
